Who we are and why we exist

  • We are a grassroots, community led organisation with a social purpose – primarily to engage in public discourse.

Our mission is to organise and advocate for the under-represented in society to influence decision making in key areas of public life.

  • As members of society, we believe in the social contract and our obligations to cooperate with each other and obey society’s laws.

This contract provides us, as citizens, with a mandate for activism – a collective voice in how we are governed.

Our name evolves from our experience of life and development – a people under pressure.

  • Our roots are in education: the foundation for future success.

We recognise however that children who are struggling to succeed in school are affected by struggles at home – adults who can’t make ends meet, and the lack of resources in the communities where they live.

We are an apolitical body not governed by party political dogma other than that which supports the interests and wellbeing of our members. We believe in Black Lives Matter.
